Couch Potato

I must admit, I let Gwen watch too much TV. Sometimes, the TV is also like the babysitter..hehe..When I want some quiet time alone, I let her watch her fav cartoon and give her a cookie...voila...I have at least 30 mins "ME TIME"...:P

Nowadays, we hardly get to watch programs other than Kids programs. Only when Gwen's asleep then the TV is all ours. I think I should cut down on Gwen's TV watching now.

Flu Again

Why is everybody having the flu? Gwen has gotten the flu bug yesterday. I think she might have gotten the flu bug from Hubby as he complained of having a sniffle few days ago. But his flu is all gone now. As I'm always at home with Gwen except for weekends which is our Family day outing, I doubt that the flu bug is from outside.

Gwen's mucus is flowing like a tap. I have to wipe her nose constantly and she is still as chirpy as ever without a tinge of discomfort. I had to feed her the flu medicine with a syringe although she is already 2 years old coz she won't take the med from a spoon. I had to force her and coax her to take her med and once she got a bit of the syrup in her mouth she would finished the rest of it. I never give her any candy treats after her med coz I don't want her to constantly ask me for candies. So far, I had never given any candy to her before. I hope Gwen recover from her flu soon.

Tony Leung and Carina Lau Wed

Last week, my Sis forwarded me an email of Tony Leung and Carina Lau's wedding photos. Do you know, it has taken Tony, 46, and Carina, 42, nearly two decades to get to the altar? Finally, they got married eh. The ceremony took place in the luxury Uma Paro hotel, which is situated in a hilly area in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan. Faye Wong (王菲), Brigitte Lin (林青霞), Kenny Bee (鍾鎮濤), Chang Chen (張震), Cecilia Yip (葉童) and Stanley Kwan (關錦鵬) were invited to their wedding. Carina Lau looks absolutely stunning in her beautiful wedding gown.

If some of you have not seen the photos, here they are.

Gwen's Haircut

I have been giving Gwen haircut since she was born till now. So far I've been trimming her fringes only coz we want her to have long hair. Although she sweats a lot, I think she looks better with long hair and when her hair is tied up. Gwen really has thick hair like who else other than "Mummy"..hehe. As it's impossible to bring Gwen to the hair salon for her haircut mainly because she is very afraid of strangers. Therefore, Mummy have to be the hairstylist..hehe..

Today was a breakthrough coz usually when I cut her hair she will fuss a little. Before she turned 2 years old, I would put her on her high chair with some toys to engage her to sit still for her haircut. It was very hard to cut her hair coz she kept on moving. I think as she gets older, it's definitely easier. At first she ran away from me but after I put her on the small stool and gave her a rubber ducky to play with, she was okay. This was the 2nd time Gwen sat on a stool with just her diaper on for haircuts. Then I start cutting her fringe as fast as I could manage. She even said "cut hair"..haha..Of course I had to keep on praising her. In the end, mission accomplished. :P Daddy said looks like a tempurung..hehe. What to do, I have to cut it short coz Gwen's hair grow long very fast.

How do I look?

She Loves To Read

Gwen's interest in reading has came back. Recently, she would shove me any book and said "Read Book". See how engrossed she was in reading or rather looking at the animals board book. Sometimes, she will entertain herself when she sees me busy with the house chores. But once I am seated she will come to me for attention.

Oooohh ahhhh....

Home-cooked Dinner #3

Tonight's dinner was Hakka yong tau foo, kangkung belacan and old cucumber soup. Gwen has started eating rice recently. I fed Gwen rice with soup coz she takes forever to chew her food hence the soupy rice makes it easier for her to finish her meal. It's really a challenge feeding a toddler!

I told Daddy to quickly snap pictures of Gwen doing this pose. I don't know where she got this idea from coz she really likes to copy whatever she sees on TV! Sometimes when she did certain poses, I would asked her what kind of style it is and she would normally tell me..haha..

Looks like some yoga pose to me..:P

Too Tired

Yesterday while I was preparing for dinner around 6.30 pm I took a peep at what Gwen was doing. Before I went and prepare our dinner, I told her to lie down if she was tired. Usually, I would put her pillow on the puzzle floor mat in front of the TV everyday (coz she requested for it) :) She likes to lie down on the mat with her pillow.

What did I see when I took a peep at her? She was sleeping!! She was that tired..haha..Nowadays, she hardly take her naps. She took half an hour nap and woke up when Daddy came home from work.

Aiyo..like that also can sleep :P

Building Blocks

Few days ago, Gwen was suddenly interested in playing her blocks. Usually, she will take out the blocks from the bag and arrange them on the floor. I had never seen her really stacking those blocks together like this in the pic. Everyday, Gwen is learning something new.

This was our dinner tonight. Don't know what's the vege called in English but in Chinese it's "tau miu". My mum sometimes cook this vege for us. I think mine it's quite close to mum's..hehe..

Philips DVD Micro Theater

Yesterday, Daddy redeemed the Philips DVD Micro Theater from Citibank Instant Redemption at Suria KLCC. We actually had enough points to redeem the system but we decided to use the rest of the points to redeem more things. The system needed 40,000 reward points + RM325 or 105,000 reward points. So, Daddy decided to go for the first option. As it was a working day, Daddy had to claim the item from KLCC after work. Imagine him carrying the item and taking the LRT from KLCC back to our place! (nowadays he is taking the LRT to go to work) Daddy said this item was the most popular redemption there.

Daddy tested the system and was satisfied with the overall performance of the system. It also has a USB port and it's able to play Daddy's external hard disk player which we downloaded most of the movies there. He couldn't test the sound system to the max though coz it was very very late at night and our little princess was already sound asleep.

Yesterday I gave Gwen some colour pencils and showed her how to colour. She was more interested in taking and putting the colour pencils back actually. It was too early for her to start colouring but she did scribbled on the colouring book everytime she took each colour pencil out.
