Last Post For 2008

Wow...it's already coming to the end of the year. Time really flies. Has this year been fair to me? No way. This is one my worst year because of my stolen handbag incident. Well, it's all behind me now. Looking at Gwen makes me forget all the sad things that happened to me. I'm grateful to have a loving husband and a lovely daughter. I wish the New Year will usher in good memories, good health, good money and everything good lah...haha.

This shall be my last post for 2008. As I look into my pics folder, there are some outstanding pics that I have never posted before.

1) Gwen's achievements in learning.

This is one of her favourite book. This book is all about shapes. I shoud say Gwen has a good memory and quite imaginative. She knows all the shapes really well in a very short time. This one is really backdated coz she already knew quite some time ago. :P

Gwen knows how to draw circles now...haha..sort of. :P

Gwen is reading alphabets. This video is quite lengthy. It needs time to load. Please turn on the volume to hear Gwen read the alphabets. :D

2) My Cooking

I have not been posting about my cooking for quite some time. I don't want to bore you all with my cooking lah..haha. Actually my posting about cooking is more for memories and inspirations to me and people who are interested(e.g: my sister). Here are some of the dishes that I cooked and Gwen loves my tofu dishes especially. ;)

Vegetables

Chicken Meat

Fish

And lastly, I want to wish all of you a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!! Thanks for taking your time to read my blog and drop me your valuable comments. See ya next year. :D

I Need A CEIVA Digital Photo Frame

Photography is one of my hobbies. I like capturing moments in time. Often times it's too easy to forget how amazing something can be in just a fraction of a second. I love taking photos of my two and a half years old daughter and anything that captured my attention. My husband is the one who started this hobby. We had taken lots of photos and we are definitely running out of space in our external hard disk drive.

I think I really need a Digital Photo Frame that displays digital photos without the need to print them or use a computer. But I want a unique and advanced photo frame like the CEIVA Digital Photo Frame. What so unique about the CEIVA Digital Photo Frame compared to other digital photo frames? It's features are amazing. The CEIVA Digital Photo Frame is an 8-inch high definition display with the convenience to load photos without having to connect to computer and it has the ability to upload photos directly from phone or email. Now you can share photos with your friends and family located anywhere in the world.

Wake up to new photos sent directly to your frame without having to do a thing. Once you activate a PicturePlan® membership, your CEIVA® frame will automatically display new photos sent from friends and family located anywhere in the world.

Gwen's Got Christmas Pressies Too

We didn't buy any Christmas presents for Gwen coz we don't really celebrate Christmas. I never thought she would get Christmas presents..haha. My 2nd brother and family actually celebrate Christmas and my thoughtful SIL did get Gwen a Christmas present. Thank you "Kao Mou"(Aunt). Another lovely SIL of mine also bought Gwen something and Hubby brought it back from KK from his sister when they met up during BIL's wedding function. Thank you Auntie Fiona. Also my BIL bought Gwen a cute soft toy for her. Thank you "Yee Cheung"(Uncle).

Classic Pooh soft toy from 2nd SIL.

Activity calendar and Emperor Penguin soft toy from SIL(Hubby's sister)

Piglet soft toy from BIL(Sis's Hubby)

Gwen's looking at the activity calendar. :D This activity calendar is very useful and I will keep it for her till she turns 3 years old plus..haha.

Mummy and Gwen Outing

We usually go out during weekends. As Hubby was not around and I'm really bored to death, I needed to go out or I'll go crazy. Luckily, Hubby's car was left at home. It's so important to have a car around or else we would be stranded at home. So we went to Mid Valley yesterday. Woohoo...Hubby is coming back later in the evening.

Although I could manage Gwen myself at home but when it comes to going out, it helps ALOT when hubby is around. We reached Mid Valley around 2pm. We went to Esquire Kitchen to have our lunch first. Don't know why Gwen didn't want to sit on the high chair but at least she sat on the normal chair. I ordered some beancurd dish and old cucumber soup with rice. Gwen was very well behaved. As long as there is soup, she could sit still and enjoy her soup with rice..haha. I'm so relief that I could enjoy my lunch while letting her played with the chopsticks..haha.

After lunch, I took Gwen to her favourite place..the amusement centre at Jusco. Before that I saw some nice cheongsams for kids but Gwen won't stand still even for a minute so shopping with her is impossible. Imagine queueing at the checkout counter with Gwen..haha. While we were at the amusement centre, Gwen wasn't interested in kiddie rides. I only used 3 tokens for her..haha..coz she was busy hopping from one machine to the other..haha.

After all the fun, we headed home. Rest a little bit at home and went to my parents' house for dinner and came home around 11 pm.

Home Alone

Before I tell you why am I home alone, let me post a brief update on how we spent Christmas. Hubby is always busy with the new house, basically these past 2 weekends we only went to Sunway Pyramid coz it's nearby and everytime we go out it's already 8pm. I didn't even get the chance to take pics of the Christmas decoration at other malls.

On Christmas day, Hubby came back from the new house around 8pm and we were off to Sunway Pyramid. Without wasting time, I bought a King size quilt from Aussino with 50% discount and headed to Dragon-I restaurant for dinner after that. I just love the food there. We had the famous "Xiao Loong Bao", Lean Pork Soup with Conch meat(some kind of snail meat), Taiwanese style braised chicken, spring rolls and Stir Fry Kailan with garlic. No pics of the food coz I didn't bring the camera.

The soup sounded pretty yucky right..hehe..but Gwen polished off her small bowl. After I told my Hubby about the so-called snail meat, he has no appetite for the soup..hahaha. Gwen and me finished off the soup. The meat looks like abalone though. :P After the dinner it was already 10 pm so we all went home.

Gwen was dipping her fork into the peanut sauce and she loved the taste. She said "Mmmm..This is good" a few times..hahaha

At least a photo with the Christmas tree on Christmas Day. :D

**********************************************************
Back to why am I home alone?

Hubby went to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah(North Borneo) on Friday this morning for his brother's wedding function. He is only going for 3 days, with just a blink of an eye, he will be back soon. Hubby went to Pakistan for 3 months before even 1 or 2 weeks is no big deal to me. Moreover, Gwen doesn't miss Daddy at all. T_T (Bad girl)

I'm used to being the primary caretaker of Gwen and with no help at all. Luckily, Gwen is quite a good girl la..haha..*fingers crossed* I was so busy today after Hubby left for KK. I went to the new house around 10.30 am to open the doors for the contractors to install the built-in wardrobes and stuff. Came back after that, ate lunch and went back to the new house again to clean up the mess and lock up the house. Yes, Gwen always tag along with me where ever I go..no choice.

We left the new house around 8pm and I brought her to Giant hypermarket nearby our new house to have dinner and do some groceries shopping. Poor Gwen, fell asleep instantly on the car as soon as I left our new house to Giant. Upon reaching Giant which was less than 10 mins drive, I had to wake her up. We had dinner at the Chicken Rice shop. Actually, their food is not bad..hehe..and I ordered the Single Set Value meal that comes with roast chicken, rice, soup, dessert, 2 pie tees, beansprouts and a drink. I was stuffed finishing everything..hehe. Gwen ate my homemade porridge together with the beansprouts and the chicken meat from the value meal.

After dinner, I bought some groceries and we reached home around 10 pm. Phew..what a day.

My dinner was simple and pretty good.

Notes: Photos were taken from my handphone.

30 Months Old Updates

30 Months and 4 Days Old

This update is overdue by 4 days. I forgot to update Gwen's milestones again. Everytime, I see Slavemom's update on her little boy, CE..haha..I will be reminded to do Gwen's updates because CE is exactly a month older than Gwen. :P

Height: 91 cm
Weight: Getting heavier(around 12kg)

Speech development
She is still not speaking full sentence yet. Only 2-3 words sentences. I'm anticipating the day when she starts telling me grandmother's stories..haha..It must be cute to be able to talk to her in the language that I understand. :P One thing she likes to say when she is eating something she likes is: "Mmmmm...This is good" which cracks me up all the time. She loves to sing. Her favourite song is My Friends Tigger and Pooh. She is just mimicking the song and singing some of the lyrics.

Eating habits
I'm lucky that Gwen is not a picky eater yet. She could eat anything with rice and she loves her greens. It's unbelievable but it's true. She eats all kinds of veges. From Kailan, spinach, lettuce, cabbage, to cucumber, carrots, peas and tomatoes. She could eat the cucumbers, carrots and tomatoes raw. She is a simple girl, even a simple lunch like fried eggs and vege or just pan-fried fish cooked with tomatoes and oyster sauce(with tomatoes and carrots), she could eat that with rice. Sometimes, I cook omelette with onions and vege(mix everything together) and that would be her lunch with rice. She is a soup lover too. She drinks all kinds of soups even Dong Quai...haha.

She eats more when we are at home and if we dine out, she don't quite like Western food. She prefers rice more than noodles. She don't quite like fried meehoon(rice vermicelli) maybe because of the texture.

Character, behaviour and emotional milestones
She is still very afraid of strangers. She would cry if there are new visitors to our house and sometimes I am embarassed by this. But I can't label her as shy in front of other people because this will make it worse and she will be thinking that shyness is part of her so it's not good. Hope she will shake off her shyness soon.

She likes hopping and jumping around. Other than that, there's not much to update. Her sleeping patterns still remains the same and she is still sleeping in her crib which she is outgrowing very soon. She don't have any favourite toys to bring to bed or anywhere.

Great Education Site For Teens

When I was still in high school, I used to go for extra classes for certain subjects that I was weak in. As I don’t have the privilege of having my parents driving me around, imagine the time wasted taking the public transports back and forth the tuition center. Also, the way the subjects were taught was the normal, boring type of classroom settings. If online education network was popular those days, students need not travel to a center (thus saving travel costs as well as site overheads), instead taking the lessons in their own home as part of a group which only 'meets' online.

If you are a parent of a high school student who thinks quality education is important and want to help students reach their full potential and do better in school, then Brightstorm is the answer for you. Brightstorm is an online learning network for teens, teachers and parents. They believe that great learning starts with great teaching and wanted to give every student the opportunity to learn from the world's best teachers. The professionalism of the content provide educational effectiveness with value and funness where teens learn more, expert teachers are able to reach more students, and parents can play a more active role in building their kids' confidence in school.

Sign up for a free brightstorm account now and enjoy access to a free episode in every course. Each course includes interactive quizzes, facts as well as bonus materials like practice problems and study guides that they use with the videos to gain a deeper understanding of the subject.

What Is Your Wish?

The other day we were shopping at one of the malls. While we were walking around the stage area, I noticed a small group of people were gathering at the stage. When we went closer, some of the kids were lining up to have their pictures taken with Santa. I wanted to bring my 2 and a half years old girl to have a photo taken with Santa too but knowing my little girl, she would definitely freak out..hahaha.

I got a wish for this Christmas too and how I wish I could sit on Santa's lap and tell him my wish. I'm so excited because there is a virtual way to interact with Santa called the Sit on Santa's Lap Experience. What I need to do is upload a photo and tell Santa my wish! I uploaded our family photo. That was a nice family photo of us that I like very much. My husband was laughing when he saw our photo appeared on Santa's CEIVA Digital Photo Frame. The best part was, my wish was listed on Santa's Wish List book! Santa, please make my wish come true.

The CEIVA Digital Photo Frame it's really an amazing product. It is an 8" hi-definition display which send photos directly to the frame from family and friends located anywhere in the world. No PC or internet needed, just plug and play with your existing phone line or Wi-Fi. I'm sure my husband would like to have the CEIVA Digital Photo Frame as a Christmas present. :P

Have fun engaging in the Sit on Santa's Lap experience and even more awesome news is; there is a contest running on http://www.sitonsantaslap.com/?utm_source=b and 1 random entry will be selected for each day of the contest. Stolen Handbag - New Update

I'm really pissed yesterday because I received a letter that really shocked me. I was at my parents' house to celebrate Winter Solstice. Everytime I go to my parents' house, I would check whether there is any letter for me or not. Then I saw this letter:

Who the hell would send me a letter in such an old fashion envelop?

As I open the envelop and read the letter, I was fuming mad! Can you believe it, the crooks who stole my handbag sent me this letter!

Here's the letter:

This is the content of the letter. I tried my best to correct the spelling but not to modify the words ok.

Good Luck. 12.12.2008

I am sorry.

You IC (MyKad)

I have. Please call me.

My no. XXX-XXXXXXX

I'm Sri Lanka people. Ok. Bye.

What do you think after reading this letter? To me, I was really angry(still is) and at the same time I hope the crooks were that stupid to want to get caught. What are they trying to pull? My hubby told me not to call the no. because they probably have evil intentions..maybe to extort money from me!!! Im not sure if the no. is fake or not. Stupid a**, just mail me my IC and driving license la. Purposely irritate me with this letter. I will curse those buggers. Oops..sorry I got carried away.

Tomorrow my hubby will bring the letter to the police station and hand it to them to investigate further on this matter. Maybe the police won't even bother. I don't know. Hope these crooks get caught and I want everything back!(I know it's impossible)

Santa baby, please grant my wishes!!! :P

Is This A Rain Coat Or A Bib?

Well I bought a huge plastic bib for Gwen yesterday from Toys R us at Subang Parade. As she is learning to feed herself now and sometimes she wanted to eat on her own so this Bib comes in handy to create less mess on her clothes. Sometimes, it's frustrating when she starts playing with her food and I would end up feeding her myself. But sometimes she insists on feeding herself.

I think Gwen is too pampered by me coz only recently she could feed herself but not mastered the skills yet. I noticed that she finished her meal faster and could eat more if she is eating on her own. Hope my little princess will master the skills real soon. :D

Does it look like a rain coat..haha?

Gwen's enjoying her Gardenia's quick bites. Crumbs everywhere. *sigh*

Got The Prints Already

Yayyyy....the prints had finally arrived at my doorstep. Remember my earlier post about eoe online, it took only 3 days for them to process my prints. This morning, the courier guy rang my doorbell and passed me a package. Inside were my photos which already inserted nicely in two photo albums. I can tell you the quality of the prints were really good which are really up to my expectations and each photo was printed on Kodak's glossy paper. I'll definitely engage on their online photo printing service again in the future.

I actually participated in their Bloggers Review Program II(for Malaysians only) and these 50 prints are absolutely FREE. The best part is one lucky blogger will walk away with the grand prize of an Olympus E-520 kit with a 14-42mm lens worth RM2499.00!

If you are like me who have tonnes of photos that need to be developed, do yourself a favour and checkout on their promotion right now.

Cut Fingernails Mama

Yes..I'm not kidding when I've mentioned before that Gwen likes her fingernails to be cut. Sometimes, her actions is so cute. She would come over and say "Cut fingernails"...haha. I have to assure her that her nails are too short to cut sometimes.

I'm so relief that cutting her fingernails and toenails is a breeze and requires no tantrums or screaming at all.

Here are some photos that shows how she enjoyed the whole process. :P

A Gift For A Housewife Like Me

OK as I had mentioned earlier that I bought something last Saturday. Actually my sister sponsored the item for me...hehe. Thanks Sis. :D My sister wanted to buy me something for our new house. Well I really needed this item and it's useful for me as a SAHM. I also needed it for my new house mini project..hehe.

Let me give you a sneak peek of what it is:

Do you have a clue of what this is?

What about now? I'm sure most of you already know..haha

Yes. It's a brand new sewing machine. The model is 8280 and it costs RM695. They are increasing the price end of this month..phew..bought just in time. And this is the cheapest in the range. I think Singer is the most recommended brand for sewing machines. Even my mum has one that is older than me..haha. Hers was a gift from her sister too..hehe..before my mum got married.

After I purchased the sewing machine, I had a mini tutorial from the dealer on how to operate the machine...haha. It may look simple but once I got home and try it, I encountered some problems. Luckily I figured out the problem..haha. I definitely need more practice on this.

These items came with the sewing machine. Some of it, I have no idea what is it for. :P

Shopping Sunday

Yeap. Sunday was another day to shop for the new house. We were still looking for curtain tracks..haha. This time we wanted the L type tracks. After the alarm guys had finished their job at the new house, hubby came back around 4pm and off we went to IKEA.

Daddy and Gwen at Uncle Lim

When we reached IKEA, it was already dinner time so we had dinner at Uncle Lim's at Ikano. Hubby and Gwen had porridge while I had assam laksa. After dinner we were back to IKEA to get the curtain tracks. We bought a roll on curtain and some curtain poles.

Gwen love Mickey and Minnie so so much.

Besides that we also shopped for our groceries and this time I did not miss out buying a dress for Gwen at the Brands Outlet. The dress is only RM49..haha..so cheap and it's from Laura Ashley. It was also a tiring day for us and we reached home around 10.30 pm.

Here is Gwen again with the new dress. Bare with me ok..hehe.. I just can't help it coz she is my mini model. :P The dress is for 3 years old but already fits her nicely although Gwen is only 2 and a half years old .

A spontaneous pose from Gwen. I had to tell her not to move to capture this pose.

Gwen's classic pose.

Ahhh...so relax.

Busy Saturday

Our weekend was a busy one. On Saturday, we were out shopping for curtain tracks for our new house. We decided to DIY the curtains and install the tracks ourselves. If we can save, we try our best not to over-spend and I think we blow our budget already for the new house. :(

First we went to a nearby hardware shop and bought the normal curtain tracks for some of the rooms for the new house. Gwen and me waited in the car. It was raining and I managed to cam-whored in the car too..hahaha. Next destination was the Mines Shopping mall. There is a curtain/fabric shop at Mines Shopping mall that offer reasonable price for curtain tracks. Actually we were looking for wooden rod for the 3 panel sliding door of our new house.

Gwen having some snacks in the car

We were at Mines around 4pm and Gwen slept a bit during the drive there. When we reached Mines, we went to the curtain shop and enquired for the wooden rod first before deciding to buy it. After that we went for some donuts at J.Co Donuts and I bought slurpees from 7 Eleven to quench our thirst and at the same time indulge in some delicious donuts. Gwen enjoyed half a donut too. :P

Gwen snatching the slurpee from Daddy. She just wanted to stir the ice. T_T

Something attracted Gwen's attention, which was the Mines water taxis. At Mines you can ride on their water taxis and cruise around the area. Actually, we had experience it before last year. It was an OK experience for me but I won't go again..haha. We shopped a little and right before we leave, off we went to the curtain shop and bought the 9 feet wooden rod. The rod is so long that part of it was sticking out of the car window.

Gwen enjoyed herself at the Mines

We went to the new house after that. Hubby and I did some cleaning and mopping too. It was 10 pm already and we quickly had dinner at a food court nearby. We had claypot chicken rice and I think Gwen was hungry coz she could finish almost a bowl of rice..haha.

When we reached home, we were so tired that all of us went to bed straight away after Gwen had her shower and milk...hehe.

Will post about what I've bought earlier on the day which was something very useful to me especially for a housewife like me...haha. Stay tuned.....

Note: Pictures were taken using my handphone.
